ABOUT PORTFOLIO PREPARATION
A strong
portfolio is essential for those planning to pursue a career in
photography and art. Students working on portfolios for entrance
into colleges will receive counseling on artwork presentation.
Attendees preparing for group and solo shows,
as
well as working as commercial photographers, will receive instruction
on producing a portfolio. Participating in this workshop provides participants with the
opportunity to develop the skills needed to create a portfolio as
well as learn to write and speak clearly about his or her work. This
is an integral and essential part of the portfolio preparation and
application process.
SUPPLY LIST
Please bring all the photographs you will be including in your
portfolio, limit of 20 photographs per student. It is recommended to
bring 10-20 images. They can be work prints, final prints or in a
digital format. Optional: bring all your proof sheets and
negatives of these images.
If you are
applying for entrance into college please bring the portfolio
requirements and catalogues, if possible, for each school.
If you are
applying to any other program or opportunity that includes a
portfolio please bring the application requirements.
Bring a
notebook and pens/pencils and/or a laptop to take notes and show your
work.

is a professional artist working in the medium of photography whose
students have been accepted to schools such as; California Institute
of the Arts B.F.A and M.F.A Programs, USC, NYU, Rhode Island School
of Design, Bard College and the School of Visual Arts. Laura
received her MFA at California Institute of the Arts, her BFA at
University of Arizona. Her work has been extensively exhibited
around the world including LA, NY, Miami, Canada and Europe.
